Played his junior and senior seasons for Coach Jamie Arsenault at New Hampton Prep in New Hampton, N.H. • Moved to New Hampshire after growing up in Asheville, N.C., where he attended Erwin High School • Played for Coach Van Allen at Erwin • Parade All-America selection • A second-team All-America by Basketball America • Teamed with Raymond Felton and Sean May to lead the East All-Stars to a win in the McDonald’s All-America game in New York City • Scored 22 points in the McDonald’s Game • Teamed with May to lead their squad to victory at the Capital Classic in Washington, D.C. • Scored 23 points in that all-star contest • Was the Gatorade Player of the Year in New Hampshire • Two-time New Hampshire player of the year • A four-time all-state selection • Led New Hampton to 2002 state championship, where he was named MVP of the title game • Scored more than 2300 points in his high school career • Was the student of the year at New Hampton in 2001 • Averaged 25 points and seven rebounds as a senior • Born Rashad Dion McCants on Sept. 25, 1984, in Asheville • Honor roll student at New Hampton • Is the son of James and Brenda McCants.
