Biography:
2005-06 Season: Started 25 games for USC and finished second on the team and fifth in the Pac-10 with a 16.9 scoring average, while grabbing 4.0 rebounds and dishing out 3.1 assists per game. Named to the All-Pac-10 first team along with teammate Nick Young, becoming the first pair of Trojans to make the team since 1992 (Duane Cooper and Harold Miner). Also selected to the NABC District 15 first team. Recorded his first career double-double on Dec. 3 vs. BYU, scoring 17 points and pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds. Poured in a career-high 36 points in a 71-69 win at Loyola Marymount on Dec. 10, earning him Pac-10 Player of the Week honors. He was 13-for-19 from the field (68.4 percent), including 5-for-10 from three-point range. He became the 12th Trojan to score 36 or more points in a game. Had 16 points (5-for-8 from three-point range), six rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win vs. North Carolina on Dec. 21. Sealed USC's win over Stanford on Dec. 31 by making 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch, including 6-for-6 in the final 47 seconds of the 82-71 win at Staples Center. Scored 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting (5-for-11 from three-point range) in a 66-65 win at Arizona State on Jan. 5. Made six three-pointers and scored all 21 of his points in the second half of an 86-77 loss vs. Washington on Jan. 12. Tallied 30 points again on 8-for-12 shooting (six three-pointers made) in an 84-78 win at Oregon on Jan. 28. He became just the ninth Trojan to score 30 or more points in three games or more in the same season and the first since Harold Miner in 1992 (11 times). Had a career-high seven steals and a game-high 25 points in a 77-70 win vs. Arizona on Feb. 2. Missed five games from Feb. 9-25 with a tibial plateau fracture in his left knee. Returned to action on March 2 and played in USC's final three games, but made only 29.3 percent of his shots (12-for-41). Finished second in the Pac-10 in steals with 55 (2.2 per game) and his 111 career steals are tops among returning Pac-10 players. Made 94 of his 117 (80.3 percent) free thow attempts to rank 10th in the conference and earn the Joe Barbato Award for the best free throw percentage on the Trojans at the team awards dinner.
