Although not a starter, the league coaches voted Chevon to the All-Big East Third Team and he was selected to Dick Vitale's All-Rolaids Team as the nation's best sixth man. He led the team in rebounds and was second on the team with an 11.0 scoring average. The coaches honored him with their award for outstanding attitude and work ethic at the end of the season. Troutman ended the season shooting 135 of 188 attempts for a .718 mark.
2001-02
In his first active season on the team, Troutman was an important contributor averaging 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game over 29 games (4 starts). He especially came on strong after the end of the regular season. In only his third start, he scored 11points and snagged 7 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament second round win over California. In the first round win against Central Connecticut State, he contributed 8 points and 3 blocks.
2000-01
Chevon redshirted the 2000-01 season.
At Williamsport Area HS, Chevon was an Associated Press Big School first team All-State center. Over his high school career he tallied 1,563 points and 1,128 rebounds. Troutman led his team to the state AAAA championship as a senior. The Sporting News named him the 10th rebounder in the nation.
