Portsmouth Partnership won the third place game with a 92-74 victory over Cherry, Bekaert & Holland at the Portsmouth Invitational.

DeMarre Carroll of Missouri had 20 points and 16 rebounds to pace the Portsmouth Partnership. He made eight of 14 from the field. Robert Vaden from UAB had 15 points as he made three three-pointers. John Bryant of Santa Clara and Alonzo Gee of Alabama scored twelve points each. Bryant added nine boards and Gee had ten as Portsmouth Partnership had a 62-38 rebounding edge. Virginia Tech's A.D. Vassallo had eleven points and Aaron Jackson of Duquesne had ten.

Ben Woodside of North Dakota State paced Cherry, Bekaert & Holland with 16 points. Wes Matthews of Marquette had 15 points and Jon Brockman from Washington finished with eleven points and twelve boards.
