Dee Brown, who was a College Basketball News' first team All-Amercian will have surgery later this week in Chicago and will likely be sidelined for six to eight weeks. Brown was expected to play for the USA Basketball Under-21 team that is scheduled to play in August in Argentina. The tryouts are to be held July 21-24 in Dallas. Brown averaged 13.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this season and lead the Illini to the NCAA championship game. Brown would join James Augustine as the two returning starters for the Illini, who lose junior Deron Williams (a projected top five pick and seniors Luther Head and Roger Powell Jr., who were also invited to the Chicago camp.
