Tidewater Sealants wins 91-88 in consolation game

Tidewater Sealants overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to advance to the consolation championship game Saturday with a 91-88 win. Beach Barton Ford led 54-39 at halftime, but Tidewater Sealants rallied to take a 78-75 lead and held on for the victory.

Tidewater Sealants was led by last-minute replacement Nate Daniels of Mountain State with 22 points. The former Louisville Cardinal made five three-pointers and was seven of twelve from the field. Jawad Williams of the NCAA champion North Carolina Tar Heels was nine of 17 from the field as he finished with 20 points and ten rebounds. Jeff Hagen from Minnesota had twelve and Devin Green of Hampton and Jay Straight from Wyoming scored eleven points each.

Beach Barton Ford was paced by Ronnie Price of Utah Valley State, who made four three-pointers as he finished with 17 points. Elton Brown from Virginia had 15 points and Jackie Manuel of North Carolina added 14 points and ten caroms. Terrence Leather from South Florida scored 13 and had eleven rebounds and Glen McGowan from Pepperdine added eleven points in the loss. Beach Barton Ford was eliminated for Portsmouth play with the defeat.
