The Big Ten Conference was ripped by many basketball observers throughout the season, but the five teams have combined for a 7-2 NCAA Tournament record and three teams have advanced to the Sweet 16. Conversely, the Big East which received eight bids, the most of any conference, is just 6-6. Mid major conferences, Missouri Valley, IVY League and Horizon are 2-0 each and the West Coast is 3-1.
