Kyle Korver made ten of 16 shots as he had a game-high 31 points leading the Bluejays to a 93-56 win over Evansville. He was nine of 14 from three-point range and made both attempts from the free throw line. His nine three-pointers set a school record.
Korver scored 24 points as Creighton improved to 4-0 in Missouri Valley Conference play by defeating Southern Illinois 85-76 Saturday on ESPN. He made six of twelve shots from the field. Korver was five of ten from three-point range and converted all seven shots from the charity stripe. He added eleven rebounds. His five three-pointers made him Missouri Valley Conference’s all-time leader (317) in that category.
Korver is averaging 20.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the season. He is shooting 54.0% from the field, 90.7% from the line and an incredible 53.1% from three-point range. His strong has elevated his status for the June NBA Draft.
Korver edged Josh Howard of Wake Forest, Dwyane Wade from Marquette, James Gillingham of Bradley, Victor Williams from Oklahoma State and North Carolina’s Rashad McCants for Player of the Week honors.
