Norfolk Naval Shipyard rallied from a 59-50 deficit to win the Portsmouth Invitational with a 72-69 victory over Sales System Ltd. Norfolk Naval Shipyard, who had trailed 30-25 at halftime, used a 22-10 run to end the game. K.C. Rivers' three-point attempt at the buzzer hit the rim.

Norfolk Naval Shipyard was led by Alade Aminu, who had a game-high 21 points. He made nine of 14 shots and added six rebounds and five blocked shots. Lawrence Kinnard of UAB had twelve points and David Holston of Chicago State added eleven.

Sales System Ltd. was paced by Josh carter of Texas A&M with 13 points. Clemson's K.C. Rivers, Paul Delaney of UAB and Michael Bramos of Miami of Ohio had eleven points each. Scott Vandermeer of Illinois-Chicago had ten points.
