The Vikings defeated West Seattle 99-40 as Lodrick Stewart scored 37 points. Dwayne Wright had 18 and Rodrick Stewart scored nine points. They are averaging 90.4 points per game. Twins Rodrick and Lodrick Stewart, who committed to USC, are averaging 22 and 21.8 points per game, respectively. They got their first big test ten days ago beating West Aurora (Ill.) 68-62 in overtime at KMOX Shootout in St. Louis. The Vikings will play in the Academy National Invitational Tournament this week.
2. Columbus (OH) Brookhaven (6-0)
The Bearcats beat Columbus Whetstone 92-52 and Mifflin 68-66. Brandon Foust, an Oklahoma signee, scored 21 points and sophomore forward Jamelle Cornley added 18 in the win over Whetstone. Brookhaven led 23-9 after the first period, but Mifflin went ahead 55-51 after three quarters. Foust had 20 points to lead Brookhaven. Andrew Lavender, who also signed with Oklahoma, had 19 and Cornley scored 18. They face Akron (OH) St. Vincent- St. Mary Saturday.
3. Akron (OH) St. Vincent-St. Mary (7-0)
The Irish defeated Willard 103-49 and Philadelphia Strawberry Mansion 85-47 as LeBron James scored 62 points in the two contests.
4. Indianapolis (IN) Pike (5-0)
The Red Devils defeated Lawrence Central 75-30 on Friday night. Junior forward Courtney Lee scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. Xavier recruit Justin Cage added 12 points and Junior Robert Vaden had 10 points and seven rebounds. They defeated Carmel 87-46. Pike is averaging 76.2 points per game and allowing just 39 points per contest. Devils' top six players return from last season's 24-4 team that reached the state championship game before losing to Gary West 58-55.
5. Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy (11-1)
Ivan Harris had 18 points and six rebounds to the Warriors to a 66-60 victory over Mount Zion (NC) Academy in the championship game of the Bill Bobier Challenge II in the Holiday Prep Classic in Las Vegas. Isaiah Swann finished with 18 points and was named the Bill Bobier Challenge II Most Valuable Player. He scored 57 points in the three games. Oak Hill will play in the Academy National Invitational Tournament.
6. Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins (6-0)
The Royals defeated Minnehaha Academy 91-62, Benilde St. Margaret 67-45 and Red Wing 77-55 as Kris Humphries scored 74 points in the three games. They will face Miami Christian in the Slam Dunk to the Beach. Miami Christian was ranked #2 in USA Today before losing twice in the Iolani Classic in Hawaii.
7. New York (NY) Rice (7-0)
The defending Federation Class A state champions won the City of Palms Classic with a 65-51 victory over Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick. Arturo Dubois scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the championship game. Russell Robinson added 18 and 7-3 center Sharagi Alleyne added eleven points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots. Junior forward Russell Robinson scored 42 points on ten of 15 shooting from the field in their win over Mater Dei. He made 18 of 21 from the line. They will play in the Academy National Invitational Tournament this week.
