Tidewater Sealants Rallies for 94-91 Win

Tidewater Sealants scored the last nine points of the game to advance to the Portsmouth Invitational championship game with a 94-91 win over Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Tidewater Sealants lead by 14 in the first half and ten at halftime, but trailed by eight with 11:21 to go and was down 91-85 with under two minutes in the game.

Martin Zeno of Texas Tech was six of eight from the field and seven of eight from the line as he led all scorers with 20 points. Jamar Butler of Ohio State and Pat Calathes from St. Joseph’s each scored 15 points in the win. Calathes continued his strong all-around play with eight rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Josh Duncan of Xavier had 14 points, Joseph Jones of Texas A&M added 13 and Mark Tyndale from Temple had ten.

Gary Forbes of Massachusetts paced Noffolk Naval Shipyard for the second straight games, as he scored 18 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished seven assists. Bryant Dunston of Fordham made all eight shots from the field to finish with 17 points. He added twelve rebounds. Anthony Morrow of Georgia Tech had 16 points, A. J. Graves from Butler scored twelve and Frank Elegar of Drexel added eleven.
