Portsmouth Sports Club Rolls to 101-88 Win

Portsmouth Sports Club used their inside game to defeat Cherry, Bekaert & Holland 101-88 in their opening game of the Portsmouth Invitational. Portsmouth Sports Club outscored thier opponnet 44-28 in the paint, including a 30-12 edge in the first half.

Reggie Williams of VMI, who led the country in socring the past two seasons, made nine of 13 shots, including four of five three-pointers to pace Portsmouth Sports Club with 22 points. Jaycee Carroll from Utah State had 16 points and Mykal Riley of Alabama scored 15. Rob McKiver from Houston had 14 points and Haminn Quaintance from Kent State added 13 poits and nine rebounds. Kyle Hines from UNC Greensboro added eleven points.

Joe Crawford of Kentucky scored 16 of his 19 points to lead Cherry, Bekaert & Holland. Brian Butch of Wisconsin added 17 points and seven rebounds and JaJuan Smith from Tennessee had 13 points. Charron Fisher of Niagara and Patrick Ewing Jr. Georgetown scored twelve points each.
