Tidewater Sealants Wins P.I.T.Opener 99-81

Tidewater Sealants used a balanced attack with all eight players scoring eight or more points, including six in double figures as they rolled to a 99-81 win over Holiday Inn Portsmouth in the opening game of the Portsmouth Invitational.

Pat Calathes of St. Joseph’s made seven of nine shots from the field as he finished with a team-high 16 points and ten rebounds. Joseph Jones from Texas A&M was also seven of nine from the field as he added 15 points. Martin Zeno from Texas Tech and Josh Duncan of Xavier scored 14 points each. Mark Tyndale of Temple and Aaron Bruce from Baylor scored eleven points each. Tyndale added eight rebounds, eight assists and four blocked shots. Shaun Pruitt of Illinois and Jamar Butler from Ohio State scored nine points each in the win.

Will Thomas of George Mason led Holiday Inn with 17 points as he made seven of ten from the field. Gavin Grant from North Carolina State scored 13 points. Charles Rhodes of Mississippi State and Bo McCaleb from New Orleans scored tne points in the loss.
