The Big Ten and Big East teams shined in the first day of play in the NCAA Tournament. The teams from the two conferences combined to go 7-0 Thursday. The Big Twelve finished 3-1. Conversely, the Pac-10 went 3-2 and the SEC finished 0-2, although the lowest seeds (Georgia and Kentucky) from the SEC played Thursday
