Portsmouth Sports Club wins Third Place

The Portsmouth Sports Club defeated the Norfolk Sports Club 89-88 in overtime to win the P.I.T. consolation championship. Kansas State's Cartier Martin scored 16 points after the half, including all five of his team's points in OT. Martin hit a three-pointer to put his team up 89-85. Alan Wiggins countered with a three to cut the lead to one, but Adam Haluska's three attempt at the buzzer was off.

Caleb Green of Oral Roberts paced the Portsmouth Sports Club with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Green made eight of 14 from the field. Cartier Martin sank eight of 13 from the floor to finish with 18. Blaske Ahearn of Missouri State, who made all three free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt to force overtime, had 17 points. Courtney Sims of Michigan scored twelve and Jahsha Bluntt from Delaware State added ten.

Alan Wiggins of San Francisco, who filled in for the injured Avis Wyatt, led the Norfolk Sports Club with 24 points. He made eleven of 18 shots and added ten caroms. Wiggins scored 18 after halftime. Adam Haluska scored 19, although he was just three of ten from the field and missed all five three-pointers after halftime. Sammy Mejia added twelve. Rashad Jones-Jennings grabbed 13 rebounds. Kammron Taylor, who made two free throws with 25.6 seconds left, dished nine assists. However, his shooting struggles continued as he was just one of nine from the field.
