Holiday Inn Rolls to 110-71 win in Portsmouth

The Holiday Inn Portsmouth jumped out to a 21-3 lead and expanded the margin to 42-14 as they cruised to a 110-71 win over Tidewater Sealants in the Portsmouth Invitational. Holiday Inn Portsmouth had seven of their eight players reach double figures. They advanced to the semifinals, while Tidewater Sealants goes to the consolation bracket.

Holiday Inn Portsmouth made 42 of 78 shots (53.6%) from the field and 12 of 25 from beyond the arc. They outrebounded Tidewater Sealants 48 to 33 and had 28 assists to just 12 turnovers.

They were paced by De’Angelo Alexander of Charlotte with 25 points. He made nine of 14 from the field and five of nine from three-point range. Last minute addition Dashaun Wood from Wright State had 18 pointsz and nine assists. He was seven of eleven from the field and three of six from beyond the arc.

Russell Carter from Notre Dame and Anthony Tolliver of Creighton had 14 points each. James Hughes of Northern Illinois and Valadas Vasylius from Old Dominion each scored eleven and Xavier's Justin Cage had ten points.

Zabain Dowdell from Virginia Tech led Tidewater Sealants with 22 points as he made nine of 14 from the field. Winthrop's Craig Bradshaw socred 13 and Martin Samarco of Bowling Green added ten points.
