The Milwaukee Bucks moved up five spots in the 2005 NBA Draft as they won the draft lottery. Milwaukee finished 30-52 last season and will return T. J. Ford, who missed the entire 2004-05 season and add the top overall selection, which could be Andrew Bogut of Utah to provide depth at power forward and center. Atlanta moved to the second spot, likely costing them a shot at Bogut.

They would pick between Chris Paul or Marvin Williams. The Hawks are loaded with small forwards like Josh Smith and Josh Childress, which could cause them to pass on Williams and select point guard help with Paul.

Portland, which drafted Sebastian Telfair in the first round and would not likely need a playmaker, would probably prefer Williams. If he is gone, they might take Gerald Green.

New Orleans was reportedly enamored in Williams, but will likely not have a chance as they fell two spots to number four. Craig Claxton and Dan Dickau did a solid job at point guard, so a Deron Williams' selection is not a necessity. Green is a possiblity as well with the fifth pick.

Utah was hurt by also falling two spots as they were expected to be interested in Deron Williams of Illinois to upgrade the point guard spot.

The last eight teams in the lottery will draft as expected. The following is a look at the draft order for the 2005 NBA Draft that will be held June 28th.
