Oak Hill rallies for 70-57 win over SVSM

Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy used a 24-6 third quarter to rally from a five-point halftime deficit in a 70-57 win over Akron (OH) St. Vincent St. Mary in the third game of the final day of the 2005 Prime Time Shootout. The Warriors made four third period three-pointers and were six of seven from the line during the period.

Kevin Durant, a 6-foot-9 junior, scored 23 points for the Warriors. Fellow junior Tywon Lawson added twenty points in the win. Jamont Gordon, a 6-foot-4 guard, had 16 of his 18 points in the second half. Eric Devendorf , a 6-foot-4 guard who inked with Syracuse, added nine points as he made all seven free throws. Gordon, who is considering Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi State, Florida and Pittsburgh, made five of six second half free throws.

St. Vincent St. Mary was led by Marcus Johnson, a 6-foot-3 junior, who had a game-high 26 points, including four three-pointers. Lawrence Wilson, who will play football at Ohio State, added ten points for the Fighting Irish.
