Top-ranked and defending state Class 2A champions Braham (MN) High made a strong case that they are the top team in Minnesota, regardless of class as they defeated Compton Centennial 64-52 in the fourth contest of the Gatorade Timberwolves Shootout at the Target Center. The Bombers are ranked #9 in the Midwest by USA Today and improved to 15-0 with the victory.

Isaiah Dahlman, who is one of the country’s top juniors, led all scorers with 28 points. He was eight of 16 from the field, two of five from three-point range and ten of eleven from the line. He averaged 28.0 points per game last season and scored 83 points in their two wins last week, including a career-best 44 points. Senior point guard Josh Vaughan, who signed with North Dakota State, had seven points and ten rebounds. Sophomore Noah Dahlman added eleven points and seven rebounds.

Compton (CA) Centennial was led by 6-foot-3 junior guard Tyre Thompson with 16 points. Jervaughn Johnson, a 6-foot-6 junior forward, had eleven points and seven rebounds. Six-foot sophomore Jesse Woodard had five assists, but failed to score. The Apaches are currently 16-7 after losing a triple-overtime thriller to Minneapolis (MN) De LaSalle last night.
