Marshall wins 70-67 thriller over Aldine

Darris Santee, a 6-foot-8 junior from Missouri City (TX) Ft. Bend Marshall said that he practices last-second shots, but they rarely go in during practice. However, Santee showed that practice makes perfect as his three-pointer at the buzzer after a loose ball scramble to lead the Buffaloes to a 70-67 thriller over Aldine in the championship game of the Texas division of the 2004 Academy National Invitational.

Darris Santee lead Marshall with 18 points as he made eight of twelve shots from the field. Jamaal McCoy, Jonathan Frazier and David Devezin, who signed with Texas A&M, all scored 13 points in the win. 6-foot-7 senior C.J. Webster, who signed with Texas State, added nine points.

Aldine was led by Gary Johnson, a 6-foot-8 sophomore made ten of 16 from the field and six of nine from the line as he scored 26 points. He grabbed eleven rebounds and blocked two shots. Brandon Brown hit four three-pointers as he added 16 points and Curtis Thomas scored 14 points.
