Garland (TX) South Garland proved that a talented duo can beat a one-man lead team as the Colonels defeated Houston (TX) Alief Taylor 69-56 to win fifth place in the 2004 Academy National Invitational Texas Division.

South Garland was paced by 6-foot-3 junior Trent Boone with 23 points. He made nine of 15 shots from the field and had five assists. Boone is hearing from most of the in-state Texas schools. Terrel Harris, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who inked with Oklahoma State, had 17 points for the Colonels. He added eleven rebounds.

Martellus Bennett, the #2 tight end in the country according to Scout.com, showed why he is one of the country's top two-sports athletes as he had a game-high 38 points. Bennett made 13 of 23 from the field and twelve of 13 from the line. Fendi Onobun, who inked with Arizona, added eight points.
