Redlands (OK) CC, ranked #1 in the country, took advantage of the tired legs of Allegany (MD) CC for a 76-59 in the quarterfinals contest at the NJCAA tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Allegany defeated Lon Morris (TX) CC 97-90 in triple overtime Tuesday and they came out winded as they made just eight of 31 (25.8%) from the field in the first half as the Cougars jumped out to a 40-22 halftime lead. Redlands shot 50% (16 of 32) from the floor in the first twenty minutes.
Allegany tried to come back in the second half, but they could not cut into a double figure lead. Redlands used their size advantage to outrebound Allegany 52-40 as they grabbed 25 offensive boards. Allegany had 17 turnovers and just seven assists.
