Houston (TX) Milby showed that the state of Texas does more than play football as they used a 26-11 third quarter run, highlighted with a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Chris Jordan to defeat Los Angeles (CA) Fairfax 80-53 for the national division crown of the Academy National Invitational. The Buffaloes improved to 20-0 with the win.

The game was tied 13-13 after one period and Milby led 30-27 at halftime. However, they scored the first seven points of the third period, utilizing their three-point shooting to put the game away early in the second half.

6-5 senior Jawann McClellan, who signed with Arizona, led all players with 25 points and 13 rebounds. He made ten of 18 shots from the field. Chris Jordan scored 18, making five of seven from three-point range and Texas Arlington recruit Larry Posey had teb

UCLA recruit Josh Shipp struggled with his shooting, making just six of 25 from the field as he finished with 15 points.

Junior 6-8 forward Jamal Boykin was a workhorse again as he finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds, ten in the first half. He fouled out with 4:14 left in the game.
