Missouri City (TX) Hightower defeated Melbourne (FL) Florida Air Academy 73-61 to win fifth place in the National division at the Academy National Invitational.

Sophomore point guard Nic Wise, who committed to Arizona as a freshman, bounced back from two disappointing games to finish with 18 points and nine assists. Her made six of 14 from the field and all four free throws.

6-6 senior Jacques Jones had 16 points and six caroms as he made seven of ten from the field. 6-7 senior Larry Handy added twelve points and 6-6 senior Reginald Fuller had ten for the Hurricanes.

6-0 junior guard Walter Hodge continued to show that the Falcons are not a one-man team as he led Florida Air Academy with 34 points as he made twelve of 15 shots from the field and eight of twelve from the line. He has scored 96 points in his three games in Houston.

Kansas signee Alexander Kaun finished with 14 points and six caroms as he made five of eleven shots from the field.

The Falcons fell to 6-4 after going 29-0 last season.
