Daniel Gibson scores 23, despite shooting woes

McDonald's All-American candidate Daniel Gibson struggled with his shooting, but Houston (TX) North Shore had their own shooting woes as Houston Jesse Jones held on for a 56-48 win in the final Texas division game of day one at the Academy National Invitational.

The Falcons never tailed in the game and opened up a 14-4 lead after one quarter. They expanded the margin to 31-17 at halftime, but North Shore went on a 23-14 run. Unfortunately, the Mustangs could not cut into the lead further.

Daniel Gibson scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half as he hit nine of eleven free throws after intermission. However, he was just five of 15 from the field and two of nine from beyond the arc. 6-0 senior guard Ray Sansom added twelve.

6-1 guards Wendell Preadom and Brandon Morris scored ten points each for the Mustangs,
