Hopkins won their second straight Best Buy Holiday Classic as they defeated the 2009 champion St. Paul Johnson 100-72. The following is a recap of Friday night's action.

Hopkins won their second straight Best Buy Holiday Classic as they defeated the 2009 champion St. Paul Johnson 100-72. Zach Stahl, who was named the tournament MVP, led all scorers with 28 points.
Siyani Chambers
, who is headed to Harvard, added 23 points. Missouri State signee
Marcus Marshall
led the Governors with 24 points.
Chanhassen 55, Henry Sibley 42
Chanhassen jumped out to a 40-13 lead as they cruised to 55-42 win over Henry Sibley in the third place game. Sibley scored just one basket in a 13-minute stretch. Senior Joey Stark led the Storm with 14 points. Kevin Jensen and Cole Otto had eleven points each. Steven Gitzen had ten. Sophomore Javon Daniels was the lone double figure scorer for the Warriors as he finished with 11 points.
Minnetonka 80, Duluth East 73
Minnetonka won the fifth place game, despite 35 points from Taylor Stafford, who set a tournament record with 114 points in his three games. The Skippers had five players in double figures, led by
Riley Dearring
and Latrell Love with 19 points. Tommy McDermott had 17 and Andrew Turnblad scored 12. Joe Risinger added 10 in the win. Stafford finished with 35, his third straight game of more than 30 points. Shaq Coleman scored 13, Rell Ladd added 11 and Mat Lochner chipped in with 10.
Durango 79, Minneapolis Patrick Henry 71
Durango traveled 1,600 miles and came away with win in the seventh place game. Joe Tuss led the Trailblazers with 25 points and Tyler Watts added 21. Tre’Vonn Wells chipped in 17. Darius Hill scored 32 points in the loss, his second straight 30 plus point effort. He scored 80 points in the three games, breaking the Best Buy Holiday Classic scoring record of 78, set by
Joe Coleman
last year. The mark would later be broken by Taylor Stafford of Duluth East. Tim Gill had 24 points and Wunell Beard added twelve.
