Xavier Price commits to Purdue

6-4 shooting guard Xavier Price has committed to Purdue. The St. Louis Eagles standout picked the Boilermakers over Oklahoma, Cincinnati and UNLV. Price had an unofficial visit to West Lafayette last fall.

Xavier Price will also be switching his school as he will transfer from O'Fallon (IL) High to Belleville (IL) West. Belleville West made it to the final eight of the Illinois Class AA Tournament and defeated O'Fallon twice during the regular season. Price first made a splash when he became the first freshman to win the Slam Dunk contest at the Illinois state tournament. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Price made 51.7% from the field, 44.7% from three-point range and 75% from the line. O'Fallon finished 15-14

Price and his St. Louis Eagles teammates will play in Bloomington’s Nike Memorial Day Classic. Purdue has gotten a commitment from Robert Vaden of Indianapolis (IN) Pike as a freshman, but he recent said that he was going to re-open his recruitment.
