6-4 freshman Antonio Lawrence of San Jose State is the latest player to enter the NBA Draft. Lawrence averaged 11.3 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game for the Spartans, who finished 7-21. Lawrence is a talented athlete, but is consdiered to be a high maintainance player and a bit selfish. He is not expected to return to school and is a late second round pick at best. Lawrence will likely end up playing in one of the minor leagues or overseas.

The loss of Antonio Lawrence means that San Jose State will be without three of their top five scorers. The Spartans signed a solid five-man recruiting class for next year.
