K&D Rounds Landscaping Wins P.I.T. Title Game

K&D Rounds Landscaping won the Portsmouth Invitational title game with a 110-93 victory over Cherry, Bekaert & Holland. It was the second straight P.I.T. title win for K&D Rounds Landscaping. They had seven of their eight players scoring in double figures, led by Portsmouth Invitational MVP Jimmy Butler.

K&D Rounds Landscaping shot 60.9% from the field and 58.3% from 3-point range as they made 14 shots from beyond the arc.

Marquette’s Jimmy Butler led K&D Rounds Landscaping in scoring for the third straight game as he finished with 19 points. He made five of seven from the field and all eight free throws.

Hometown hero Frank Hassell of Old Dominion had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Northeastern guard Chasson Allen had 16 points and Vlad Moldoveanu from American and Chris Warren of Mississippi had 15 points each. Moldoveanu was five of six from three-point range in the win. Minnesota’s Blake Hoffarber had 13 points and Rick Jackson of Syracuse added 12.

Cherry, Bekaert & Holland was led by Dwight Hardy of St. John’s, who had a game-high 20 points. Villanova guard Corey Stokes made four 3-pointers as he finished with 18 points. Ravern Johnson from Mississippi State scored 13 points and Pittsburgh’s Gilbert Brown had 11. Late addition Luke Sikma of Portland had ten points.
