Portsmouth Partnership Wins 80-75 in P.I.T.

Portsmouth Partnership defeated Norfolk Sports Club 80-75 in the opening game of the Portsmouth Invitational. Casey Mitchell of West Virginia leads all scorers with 23 points as he made nine of 15 shots from the field and three of five from beyond the arc.

Mike Davis of Illinois added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Portsmouth Partnership. Jamarr Saunders of UAB added 13 points and Diante Garrett from Iowa State had 12. St. Mary’s guard Mickey McConnell had 12 assists.

Delroy James of Rhode Island led Norfolk Sports Club with 15 points. Tracy Smith of North Carolina State and Penn State’s Talor Battle added 13 points each. Alex Tyus, a late addition from Florida, chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds. Mike Smith of East Tennessee grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.
